The best one-day creative workshops in Barcelona: pottery, candles, jewellery, perfume, bookbinding, kintsugi, terrariums, leather and screen printing, with prices.

Some afternoons I don’t fancy another terrace or another exhibition: I want to make something with my hands and take it home. Barcelona is full of small studios offering one-day workshops, with no experience needed and all materials included.

Here is my pick by theme. I checked prices and length on each studio’s website in November 2026; they can change, so confirm before booking.

The basics

Most affordable
candles and kokedamas, from €45
Most original
perfume and kintsugi
As a gift
a silver ring or a terrarium
Length
from 1 h 30 min to 5 h

Pottery and the wheel

  • Tierra Cerámicas (Riera de Sant Miquel 65, Gràcia). A 2-hour wheel trial class for €50, with materials, apron and firing with clear glaze.
  • La Mesa – Creative Lab (c/ Atlàntida 47, Barceloneta). A private wheel experience for beginners, for one or two people: 2 hours, €65 per person. Your piece is ready about two weeks later.

Candles

  • Des Candles Studio (c/ Erasme de Janer 9, Raval). 2-hour workshops for €45 with a drink included; one of them makes candles that look like desserts.
  • Vento Barcelona (c/ Saragossa 42, Sant Gervasi). A marbled scented candle in soy and coconut wax, choosing colour and scent: 1 h 30 min, €49.99, in Spanish, Catalan or English.

Jewellery and silver rings

  • Silver Workshop Barcelona (c/ Pere IV 350, Poblenou). A silver ring with textures and stamps, and you can engrave a word inside: 3 hours, €95 per person.
  • Tangai BCN (c/ Mirallers 15, Born). The Silver and Wine experience, a ring made over a glass of wine, from €60 per person.

If you like jewellery, have a look at permanent jewellery in Barcelona too.

Your own perfume

  • Smell Lab BCN (c/ Torrent de l’Olla 15, Gràcia). With perfumer Klara Ravat you create your scent from 20 to 25 raw materials and take home a 10 ml bottle: about 3 hours, €75. Places go fast; November was sold out.
  • Carner Barcelona (c/ Diputació 266, Eixample). The treat: a Mediterranean perfume workshop with a 30 ml bottle and a personalised label, 2 hours, €230, once a month.

Bookbinding and paper

  • Naikare (c/ Alí Bei 11, Eixample). Traditional Coptic bookbinding, and you take your sewn book home: 3 hours, €60.
  • Trapitos al Sol / Casa Flo (Travessia de Sant Antoni 4, Gràcia). Japanese bookbinding in 3 hours for €45, or traditional hardback in 4 hours for €55.

Kintsugi

  • Duduá (c/ Diluvi 5, Gràcia). Modern kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing ceramics with gold, with Japanese tea included: 3 h 30 min, €65. The piece is decorative, not food-safe. They also run a traditional version with real gold.

Terrariums and kokedamas

  • Junglemows (c/ Verdi 75, Gràcia). A terrarium in 1 h 30 min from €55 depending on the container, or a kokedama for €45.
  • La Plantisserie (c/ Perill 29, Gràcia). A 2-hour terrarium workshop, €55, with materials; book a date or give it as a gift.

Leather

  • Bonenfant Atelier (Plaça de la Llana 3-4, Born). In 2 hours for €85 you make a belt, a wallet or a case; in 4 hours for €165, a hand-stitched bag. In Spanish, Catalan, French and English.
  • Rossymina (c/ Banys Vells 14, Born). A beginners’ session making a keyring, wallet or card holder from €45, and a belt from €75.

Screen printing and macramé

  • Print Workers Barcelona (c/ Quevedo 28, Gràcia). An introduction to screen printing on fabric and paper with your own design, six people maximum: 5 hours, €55.
  • Makrama (c/ Pere IV 38, Poblenou). Macramé jewellery for beginners, 4 hours, €110, on weekend mornings.

And if sewing is your thing

I wrote about Atelier Meravelles, a sewing studio in Sant Pere with classes from €45.

Tips before booking

Book ahead, especially for Saturdays, and ask which language the workshop is in. Many pottery pieces need firing and are collected days later. Workshops make a great gift and are one of my favourite unusual things to do in Barcelona on rainy days: find more ideas in Barcelona when it rains.
