If you can never walk past a cookie without ordering one, save this weekend. Cookie Fest, Barcelona’s first cookie festival, is here: 12 bakeries compete to make the best cookie in Barcelona, and you decide who wins. Entry is free.
What is it? A festival of artisan cookies with 12 bakeries, each with a cookie created for the occasion, and a public vote to choose the best.
Why go? It’s free to get in, you’ll taste cookies you won’t find anywhere else, and you can pair it with a walk around Port Vell.

What you’ll taste
Each bakery makes an exclusive cookie for the festival, with something for everyone: filled with cream, with ice cream, gooey in the middle or extra crunchy. Expect classics like Nutella, Lotus or Happy Hippo, wild ideas like a torrija cookie (Spain’s French toast) and even trompe-l’oeil creations like the mango «Clack-Clack».
Bakeries taking part include Demasié, Bakedbyalba, Buvette and Rulli; the rest are being revealed on their Instagram, @cookiefest.es. Over the weekend there are also baking workshops with Bakery by Noelia and others, plus an illy food truck for coffee.
Prices and voting
Entry is free: you only pay for what you taste. A whole cookie is €4.50, a half cookie €2.25, and the tasting menu (€1.75) gives you a card to score each cookie from 1 to 10 and drop in the ballot box. The winner is announced on Sunday 8 November and moves on to the Madrid edition.
My tips
Go hungry and with company, order halves and share so you can try more. Saturday afternoon will be busiest, so aim for Friday lunchtime or Sunday morning. Afterwards, walk along Port Vell to Barceloneta. Getting there: metro Drassanes (L3) or Barceloneta (L4), then walk across the Rambla de Mar.
More food plans this month: the Hotel Tapa Tour and Barcelona in November. For right now, see what to do today.
