From 5 to 15 November 2026, 12 five-star and grand luxury hotels in Barcelona open their bars, terraces and restaurants to anyone who wants to try a signature tapa with a drink included. You don’t need to be staying there or to book: you walk in, order the tapa and it comes with its glass.
It’s the first time Hotel Tapa Tour has come to Barcelona in autumn, and it’s the perfect excuse to walk into hotels where you’d normally hesitate to order even a coffee. Below you’ll find which tapa each hotel serves, what it costs, where it’s served and when. They’re all on my Mapa Inspira too, under Plans.
What is it? A tapas route through 12 luxury hotels in Barcelona. Each hotel prepares two to four exclusive tapas, each with its own drink.
Why go? You get to taste the food of the city’s big hotels for the price of a tapa, with no booking.

How it works
Each hotel has two to four tapas, and each comes with a drink included in the price:
- National tapa, Spanish cooking, with a D.O. Ribera del Duero wine.
- Fusion tapa, with international inspiration, with a D.O. Cava.
- Signature croquette, with Estrella Damm or Free Damm.
- Sweet tapa, with a cocktail or an alcohol-free mocktail. Only three hotels have one.
You order the tapas one by one, with no booking, during each hotel’s serving hours. Watch out, because every hotel has its own hours: some terraces only open in the afternoon and one hotel doesn’t serve on one day of the week.

On Thursday 6 November there’s also an In-House experience: a tour of ERRE, the Gran Café and Entre Cielos with three tapas and their pairings for €24. It’s the only part of Hotel Tapa Tour you need to book, and there are only ten places.
The ones I’ve got my eye on
- The omelette with caviar at the Mandarin Oriental, on its Terrat terrace. Just don’t go on a Saturday.
- The grilled oyster at El Palace, in the Grand Hall.
- The garlic prawn dumpling at The Barcelona EDITION, €7 in the Punch Room.
- The roast chicken croquette at Cotton House, €8.
If you’re short on time, Route 2 is the easiest: El Palace and Cotton House are next door to each other on Gran Via, and the Almanac and Tablafina are a short walk away.
And from January, a year-round route
The organisers have announced that from January 2027 Hotel Tapa Tour will have a permanent route. When I know more, I’ll tell you.
If you want more plans, see my guide to Barcelona in November and Barcelona’s historic restaurants.
And if after all that luxury you fancy something more local, try my favourite neighbourhood bodegas, where to eat well and cheaply in Barcelona and, once the season starts, where to eat calçots in Barcelona.
All the details, including the allergens in each tapa, are on the official Hotel Tapa Tour website.
