A beach towel is usually the last thing we think about. That’s why I loved discovering Revorn: a Barcelona brand that turns artworks into towels made from recycled microfibre, produced right here in the city. Behind it is Joan Tarragó, a Barcelona artist and the brand’s founder.

Joan Tarragó is from Barcelona and trained in calligraphy, graphic art and mural painting. He has spent around 20 years developing his own calligraphy, and his designs mix ancestral symbols, folklore, rock posters and skate and surf culture.
He sets Revorn’s visual direction and leads the main collections. The brand also invites international and emerging artists to design limited editions, so the range keeps changing.
Recycled towels, made in Barcelona
What I value most about Revorn is how the towels are made. They use recycled microfibre (rPET) from post-consumer waste, even the sewn label is recycled rPET, and every towel carries the RCS (Recycled Claim Standard) certification. They’re produced in Barcelona by one trusted local manufacturer, in a hard-wearing technical fabric.

The collections
Roadtrip to Imsouane is the first collection, born from a trip along Morocco’s Atlantic coast, from Agadir to the fishing village of Imsouane. The Black Edition is black and white, inspired by fanzines, sketchbooks and freehand drawing. And the limited artist editions feature guest designers. Some designs nod to the city, like Slide BCN and Barceloneta.
