What is Solteros Feeling
Solteros Feeling organises singles events in Spain: speed dating, singles parties, outdoor activities and personalised dates. Its speed dating is touring cities across the country, and in November it is Barcelona’s turn.
The idea is to go back to basics: meeting people face to face, with no screens, in a relaxed setting where nobody feels out of place.
How this dinner speed dating works
Speed dating means having several short conversations with different single people in one evening. When the time is up, you switch partners and start a new chat. In a single dinner you meet more people than in weeks on the apps.
The Barcelona edition has three things that make it different:
- It is seated, with a tasting menu. The dates happen at the table while you try the dishes, so there is always something to talk about.
- It is for people aged 25 and over. An adult crowd that comes ready to meet someone for real.
- It is organised by age range. Participants are grouped by age, so the people you meet are at a similar stage of life.

The exact venue is a surprise: it is revealed the day before, on Friday 13 November, to everyone who has booked. What we do know is that it will be in the centre, near La Rambla, so it is easy to reach by metro: Liceu (L3), Drassanes (L3) and Catalunya (L1, L3 and FGC) are a few minutes’ walk from anywhere on La Rambla.

My tip: speed dating events usually aim for the same number of men and women in each age group, so places can sell out separately. If you fancy it, do not leave it to the last week.
Tips for your first speed dating
- Arrive 10 minutes early. Find your seat, say hello and shake off the nerves before it starts.
- Mention any allergies or intolerances when you book. As there is a tasting menu, it is better they know in advance.
